Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a collision between a pedestrian and semi-truck in Orange County this morning that resulted in the death of the pedestrian.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:25 am, a 2014 Freightliner semi-truck hauling two trailers and driven by a 52-year-old St. Cloud man was traveling westbound on Interstate 4 approaching mile marker 67 in the outside lane. At the same time a 62-year-old Orlando man was walking eastbound on Interstate 4 across the lanes at mile marker 67. As they approached, the pedestrian came in the direct path of the semi, and was struck.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver or pedestrian involved in the crash.
