Breaking News this Morning: Driver dies after a three-vehicle collision in Lake County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle collision in Lake County this morning that resulted in the death of a driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:08 am, a 21-year-old Valrico man driving a 2006 Chevy Cobalt was traveling eastbound on County Road 42 east of State Road 19.
At the same time, a 20-year-old Port Orange man driving a 2019 Subaru WRX was traveling westbound on CR-42 east of SR-19, and a 2018 Ford F-150 driven by a 28-year-old Deand man was traveling westbound on CR-42 east of SR-19 behind the second vehicle.
As they approached, the driver of the first vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, entered the westbound lane, and came into the direct path of the second vehicle. As a result, they collided head-on.
The third vehicle attempted to swerve to the right but was unable to avoid the second vehicle, and they collided too.
The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. The driver of the second vehicle reported minor injuries to the FHP, while the third driver reported no injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
The FHP did not release the names of the drivers involved in the crash.
