Updating Breaking News: Motorcyclist dies after a single-vehicle collision in Volusia County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision yesterday in Volusia County that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 1:23 p.m., a 2024 Harley-Davidson Nightser motorcycle driven by a 71-year-old Paisley man was traveling westbound on Retta Street, approaching Grand Avenue. As the rider began to turn left on Grand Avenue, he lost control, ran off the roadway to the right, and struck a signpost. The rider was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The FHP did not release the name of the motorcyclist.
The crash remains under investigation.
