According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:30 pm, a 50-year-old Miami man driving a sport utility vehicle and transporting a 32-year-old Gulfport, Mississippi man, was traveling east on Interstate 10 near mile marker 284 when he traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Both occupants were transported to area hospitals, where the passenger was later pronounced deceased.
