Updating Breaking News: Driver dies after a single-vehicle collision in Gilchrist County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Gilchrist County yesterday that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 12:50 pm, a Ford Fusion driven by a 52-year-old Austell, GA man was traveling northbound on US 129. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on the west shoulder of US 129.
The driver was pronounced deceased by Doctor Letitia Bible at 1:54 pm, according to the FHP report.
The FHP did not release the driver's name involved in the crash.
