Updating Breaking News: Driver dies after a single-vehicle collision in Gilchrist County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a single-vehicle collision in Gilchrist County yesterday that resulted in the death of the driver.
According to the FHP report, at approximately 9:38 am a sport utility vehicle driven by an 84-year-old Trenton man was traveling south on CR-337 north of SE 27th Pl when it ran off of the roadway onto the left shoulder, struck a fence and then a house.
The driver was transported to Shands Health UF via life flight where he was pronounced deceased.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver involved in the crash.
