Updating Breaking News: One dead, seven injured after collision between SUV and van in Suwannee County

Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle collision yesterday in Suwannee County that resulted in the death of a passenger.

According to the FHP report, at approximately 6:14 pm, a sport utility vehicle driven by a 67-year-old Branford woman was traveling on State Road 247 and County Road 49, and a van driven by a 45-year-old Mayo man transporting multiple passengers collided.

According to the report, one passenger, a 21-year-old Mayo man, died in the collision, while seven others suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The FHP did not release the names of the drivers or passengers involved in the collision.
